作詞人希望透過這首歌帶出在神眼裡每一個人都是平等，
無論是富或貧，是健全或有缺陷，
人與人或是民族間應當互相尊重和彼此關愛的訊息。

歌曲令我聯想起這段聖經故事……

約拿先知起初逃避上帝的呼召，經歷過被大魚吞下後，終於踏上征途前往尼尼微城（罪惡之都）傳播悔改之道。雖然尼尼微城內有許多真誠改過的人，但約拿的心確卻是剛硬且為此忿忿不平。 最後，神藉着一棵蓖麻的枯榮對約拿道出了心意 :『這蓖麻不是你勞苦的，也不是你培養的，牠一夜發生，一夜乾死，你尚且憐惜；何況這尼尼微大城，其中不能分辨左右手的有十二萬多人，並有許多牲畜，我豈能不憐惜呢？』
神既是寬容接納了悔改後的尼尼微城，顯明了祂對世人的慈愛是超越種族、文化和地域。現今蒙福的你和我，面對週遭的種族和不同文化背景的人，無論是富或貧，是健全或是有缺陷，你可願意放下有色眼鏡?  你可願意付上多一份體恤與關懷，去憐憫和接納，展開這份容人之心 ? 世界每日發生的天災人禍害已多不勝數，別讓人間延續不幸!
